David is a seasoned communications professional and military veteran with more than 25 years of experience in the corporate, agency and publishing sectors. His career has included leading the U.S. Energy Sector for PR giant Edelman as well as several corporate in-house roles with companies such as BP North America, LyondellBasell Industries and most recently as the head of global communications at Adient, the Johnson Controls automotive spin-off.

Before starting Kinetic Communications, David had provided counsel to senior leaders at Fortune 50 companies and to entrepreneurial start ups such as HudsonField, Aero Parts Now and Sunnova Energy Corp. His global experience includes leading teams of communicators to reach key audiences in Europe/Africa, Asia Pacific, China and the Americas.

David has extensive experience in strategic communications planning and execution, media relations, marketing, advertising, government and public affairs and issues and crisis communications.

In addition, David is a military veteran with 18-years of service in the U.S. Air Force/Michigan Air National Guard and as a Public Affairs officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Steve Hoffman is the founder and president of Hoffman Power Consulting. An author of over 500 technical and marketing documents in the electric power industry, he is widely recognized as a leader in the field of technical and marketing communications in this industry.

Steve brings a highly technical background – including two engineering degrees from Stanford and engineering experience at an investor-owned utility and municipal utility – to each writing project. Continuously serving the industry since 1982, Steve has researched and written about most of the critical business issues and solutions that have defined the evolving industry over the last three decades. His recent works span power generation and storage, power delivery, standards and regulatory compliance, environmental impacts, end use, cyber and physical security, power market design, resiliency, and many others.

He is personally involved in each client engagement, and ensures the high quality and on-time delivery that has defined his successful firm’s services since 1985.

Mary Henige spent 30 years at General Motors in a variety of communications leadership roles. In 2015, she founded Magnetica Communications LLC, a consultancy which specializes in providing counsel to the C-Suite and other senior leaders on strategic communications; branding and reputation management; social media; messaging; media relations; story-telling; and crisis management. She has a rich network of national and local news media; communications; social media; and marketing professionals.

Over her career, Mary was responsible for the launch of dozens of vehicles, products/services and consumer-driven marketing communications including web site content development. She was the director of legal and safety communications for four years and a member of the ignition switch team. She led social media for nearly six years, a role she began one month before bankruptcy.
